LEXINGTON, NORTH CAROLINA
Two new professional wrestling tag teams on the local scene appear in a featured match at the LEXINGTON YMCA tonight.
GEORGE BECKER, the all-time Carolina fan favorite, teams with young JOHNNY WEAVER, to meet the mad Russian combination of JOHN SMITH and IVAN KAMEROFF in a two-of-three falls contest. The match has a one hour time limit.
The Russians have been together as a team for some time now but are making their first LEXINGTON appearance as a combo. They are both mean and dangerous. BECKER has just recently taken on the up-and-coming WEAVER as his full-time partner. JOHNNY has been wrestling in the Carolinas only a few months.
The maniacal Mexican PANCHO VILLA returns to the arena to battle young REGGIE PARKS in the evening's semifinal event, set for two-of-three falls.
Prelim singles bouts scheduled are TONY BAILLARGEON against "Big" JIM WRIGHT and MAURICE LAPOINTE scrapping with FIRPO ZYBSKO.
Action gets underway tonight at 8:15.
