Johnny Weaver and Lord Alfred Hayes started a great feud in the summer of 1981, and the two continued to battle things out well into 1982. This show in Toronto in January of 1982 featured Weaver vs. Hayes in a cage match as a semi-final bout.
The Toronto booking office was closely affiliated with Jim Crockett Promotions as well as the WWWF. The Crockett relationship began in late 1978 and continued until the WWF began it's exclusive booking arrangement with the Tunney office in 1984. Johnny Weaver helped book the Toronto cards in the early to mid 1980s.
Headlining this card was Bob Backlund defending the WWWF title against Greg Valentine and Angelo Mosca vs. Big John Studd for the Canadian title in a cage as well.
