Another Year - My Note from Capt. Smith

Every year around this time, I receive a nice note from Capt. Michael Smith, Johnny Weaver's captain at the Mecklenburg Sheriff's Office.

We should all be as fortunate as Johnny Weaver when we leave this world to have a friend remember us in the way that Capt. Smith faithfully and loyally remembers Johnny. Of course, Capt. Smith will be the first to tell you that we should all be as fortunate to have known someone like Johnny and call him friend.

Johnny Weaver passed way six years ago, February 15, 2008. Every year since, I have received a nice note from Capt. Smith, remembering his friend and co-worker.

Rest in Peace, Johnny. We all miss you very much.   - D. Bourne

I am getting ready to be away from the office for a while wanted to send a Thank You out again for all you do to keep Johnnie’s legacy out there.  This is the time of year I really go over all your stuff out there except I started thinking about and reading about Johnnie in December of last year.  Just a point it does not get any easier.  I have a hard time remembering my kids and wife’s birthday but there is no problem remembering Johnnie.  Hope you are well just a quick note I still miss that man a lot and Thanks so much for all you do and especially the new info you come across or share that relates to Johnnie.
